Boudicca writing task
Children worked together to order events in the story of Boudicca. They then wrote a recount with a focus on using fronted adverbials and writing in the past tense.
Look out for a fabulous example on LMYL later in the week!
Roman Coins
Today in art lessons children handled real Roman coins! They then worked hard to draw from close observation.

eTwinning 10th anniversary celebrations
Following our successful eTwinning cross-cultural project 'Christmas Cards from Europe' and to reward our commitment to the project, we received a special pack fom the initiative containing free t-shirts and small mascots for every pupil.
To coincide with our Romans topic and our previous work on Mount Vesuvius we decided to have a special Italian themed day. We read the wonderful book (set in Venice), Gabriella's Song, ate pizza and took part in a 'Pasta Palace' challenge.

The Story of Boudicca
In literacy lessons this week children are learning about the story of Boudicca and the Roman invasion of Britain. They read the story in guided reading sessions and retold the story orally. They then worked in groups to write short recounts of the story and used the Pic Collage App to create posters, combining their written work with images found on the internet.
