Savage Stone Age!!!

The children are really enjoying this topic! We read the wonderful story 'Stone Age Boy' about a little boy who travelled back in time to the Stone Age. The children wrote excellent diary recounts! In computing lessons they began using text and images to produce leaflets and articles on purplemash.

We watched a hilarious (yet educational!) stone age song video on the horrible histories section of the CBBC website.

They learned that although it is sometimes thought that Stone Age people were not very clever, they did in fact have many achievements! Such as introducing farming, building structures, making tools, taming horses for travel, amongst more. The children took part in a deeper thinking 'Diamond Nine' activity. They had to rank the achievements from most important to least important. There was no right or wrong answer to this and the activity provoked excellent discussions.
