Secret Challenge #2

Click here for the new challenge

Spelling Super Stars!

Well done to the 3 children who got every spelling word correct for 4 consecutive weeks. A few children just missed out...keep trying hard and you could win a 'Spelling Bee' certificate next half-term.

Secret Challenge (Padlet)

I recently posted the link to a secret challenge. You needed to use your computing skills to work out how to use the padlet application and then answer a question in your own opinion. Well done to the children who completed the challenge and to Mrs Evans too!! They were rewarded with a certificate.

A new padlet secret challenge will be uploaded soon.

Cave Paintings

The cave paintings created a few weeks ago are now proudly displayed in the classroom. They look fantastic and look out for a competition coming soon to win the cave paintings!!!

Half-term Hero

The children have been secretly nominating their 'hero'....someone who has done something really kind or thoughtful for them. Congratulations to our first HALF-TERM HERO we hope you and your nominator enjoy your heroes! :-)

The box will be emptied and new nominations will start next half term!

Drum roll...

And the winner is...

Estimation Station #7

The final estimation station winner of the half-term. Congratulations!!

Stig of the Dump (Play Scripts)

The children have written and re-drafted their own play scripts based on 'Stig of the Dump'. The standard of work produced was superb and some of these will be published on the Lend Me Your Literacy website.

We randomly selected a few play scripts for children to act out in small groups. They worked together to read the script and stage directions before acting it out. With just 20 minutes to rehearse we then chose 2 groups (again at random!) to perform for the class. The performances were great and all children who took part were rewarded with a drama certificate.

Marvellous Music!

The saxophone is such a difficult instrument to learn to play. Well done and keep up the good work!!

Cinema Afternoon

As a treat for working really hard all half-term and completing all of their homework, year 3/4 were treated to a Stone Age themed cinema afternoon. We watched 'The Croods' and enjoyed popcorn and treats.

Diwali celebrations

This week is the Hindu festival of Diwali. We have been learning about Rama and Sita and creating Rangoli patterns and Diva lamps.

Sport Session

The children enjoyed a games session with Mr Cowling.
